Let’s start with me.
You need to know that I genuinely want to help people. It is my first instinct. It is why I have an AA in psychology. It is why each of my jobs has been in public service. It is why I believe this blog is going to work. I love writing and helping others is in my nature. A helpful blog for writers is what I’m all about.
In my free time, I geek out. I have learned the hard way about the cake and the lies. I own a bakery in Minecraft. I make a killing by auctioning off cats in World of Warcraft. I have survived 29 days in Don’t Starve (blasted evil pig traitors!). I can’t decide if my soulmate is Mr. Darcy or Daryl Dixon, which is really troubling. I take Harry Potter way too seriously, but there is just cause. You don’t take a person’s kin lightly, and I grew up with Harry, Ron and Hermione.
I’m also a total country girl, but not in the cowboy boots and horses kind of way. My childhood was country roads, baby goats, eating garden veggies and riding around on lowered tailgates, legs swinging. I wouldn’t change that for the world. A big part of my heart is still a red clay hill peppered with goats, chickens and dogs. I’m not sure where I’m going, but I know where I’m rooted and who I am, and that makes me as confident as I guess anyone could ever be.
Now for the blog.
I post 2-3 times per week about writing. Each post is designed to help you become a better writer and grow. With that in mind, you should know that I don’t consider myself to be an expert. But, I wholeheartedly believe that you can learn from me. And I know that I can learn from you. I’m opening up our line of communication so that we can grow as writers together.
Expect posts about writing (creative and professional), freelancing, book and gadget reviews as well as my personal writing goals. I also create and share Pinterest boards for writers and each month I have a linklove roundup that I will share with you.
