The 90 Day Novel Challenge: Final Results

I started the 90 Day Novel Challenge a few months ago, and I paired it with Camp NaNo.

I wanted to review each step and finish it up with some great results.  I wanted to say, “I have a novel, now.  Huzzah!”

But, as my mother tells me, we don’t always get what we want.  And I didn’t get what I was looking for out of this, but I did learn about my writing process.

The 90 Day Novel Challenge: Section 2

Okay, so technically I was supposed to be finished with Section 2 a few days (erm, weeks…) ago.  I’m a bit behind, but I’m not unhappy about that, because I’m uncovering more aspects to the story with each day.  I feel like sacrificing a few extra days to brainstorm and outline will be worth it in the end, so I’m not worrying about that.

Also, I don’t think my being behind is going to push me back on the 90 day end goal, because I’m participating in July’s Camp NaNo.  So, I should have my first 50,000 words finished sooner rather than later!

The 90 Day Novel Challenge!

For the past two years, I have hit a block in my writing.  I hesitate to call it “writer’s block,” because that means something else to me.  It is more like a complete lack of inspiration.

I think my problem is that I have finished a novel that I want to publish and I’ve been spending a lot of time teaching myself what I need to know about traditional publishing.  I also feel like if I start another novel that I’m giving up on the one I have completed.  However, I know that I have to get over all of that and put the pen to paper (or fingers to keys more like!), so I bought myself a little motivational treat that I thought I would share with you.
